What is the father of dumbs?
You might not know, so I clarify. When I was a
teenager I heard the Portuguese expression “pai
dos burros” (father of dumbs) a lot. An injustice to the fathers, to the
four-legged animals and to the student who used the dictionary. This kind of book,
at that time, were real big bricks, difficult to be transported. When someone
showed up with one, he/she was sure it would be a laughingstock.
Today, you can carry as many dictionaries as you like inside a cell phone. When someone looks up
words in a dictionary, they are
doing just the opposite of stupidity. The “father of the intelligent” expands
anyone's knowledge. Just want to know more.
How about
drama?
Drama is a word that has many connotations. For a writer it
is fundamental because it allows him/her to use it in infinite human
situations. It is the basis of fiction writing and is present in almost all
artistic manifestations. Michaelis dictionary the following

mid-nineteenth century, in which the larger genres, represented by comedy and
tragedy, merged to form a single genre.

In
our lives
Situation or series of events that, due to its gravity
or violence, may endanger the tranquility or physical integrity of the
individuals involved; catastrophe, disaster, fatality: the drama of war refugees. Conflict between people, usually sentimental
or passionate; trouble, setback, disorder: the life of this couple is an
unsolvable drama.
That is why I chose this word for my brand as a writer. By the way, drama is a word that has the same meanings and the same written
form in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Just check it in the dictionary, without be a laughingstock.
